June Is a Month for Pride!

This Book Riot piece—about how to prepare for Pride Month in libraries—was published just before June 2025. But the observations it makes and suggestions it gives are still just as powerful (if not more so) a year later. In fact, I’ve grappled with many of these same considerations since my anthology Am I Blue? Coming Out from the Silence was first published in 1994. And I’m filled with pride that Am I Blue? continues to find new readership every Pride Month, in part because librarians have fought for this book and others!
